Who is Jay?
I’m Jay — a petrochemical engineer by day, and a market analyst by conviction.
With nearly a decade of experience in Korea’s industrial sector, I’ve spent my career thinking in systems: how processes flow, where inefficiencies hide, and what happens when one variable shifts unexpectedly. It turns out, markets work the same way.

Why Jay’s Trend?
Most financial content falls into one of two traps: it’s either too shallow to be useful, or too academic to be actionable. Jay’s Trend exists in the space between — grounded analysis, written in plain language, for people who want to think seriously about where the world is heading and how to position themselves accordingly.
I focus on:
- Global macro trends — interest rates, currency dynamics, geopolitical shifts
- Stock and ETF analysis — with a particular lens on Korean and Asian markets
- Emerging investment themes — AI infrastructure, energy transition, semiconductor cycles
Investment Philosophy
Core belief: The best investments are found at the intersection of structural change and temporary mispricing. Patience is not passive — it’s a strategy.
I’m a long-term, thesis-driven investor. I don’t chase momentum blindly, but I’m not afraid to follow a trend when the fundamentals support it. Every position I take starts with a question: why does this matter, and why now?
I also believe in transparency about risk. Markets are uncertain by nature — anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
A Note on This Blog
Everything published on Jay’s Trend reflects my personal research and opinions. It is not financial advice. I’m an engineer, not a licensed financial advisor — and I think that perspective, grounded in industrial reality rather than Wall Street theory, is exactly what makes this blog worth reading.
If you find value here, share it. If you disagree, I’d genuinely like to hear why.
